Media Ambassadors Programme – September 2016

The Media Development Foundation, in association with Robert Bosch Stiftung and the International Media Centre at the HAW Hamburg, facilitated a three-week programme “Medienbotschafter India-Deutchland” for eight German journalists from September 5th to September 25th 2016 at the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. This is the second consecutive year that this programme was held at the ACJ. The programme comprised professional orientation and study modules on various aspects of India aimed at a deeper understanding of Indian society and politics; field visits to Madurai, Sivakasi and Kanchipuram; and excursions in and around Chennai and Mahabalipuram.

The Media Development Foundation in association with Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) and supported by the Robert Bosch Foundation will facilitate an annual fellowship programme in India for journalists from Germany. The programme will include professional orientation and study modules about various aspects of India aimed at a better and deeper understanding of Indian society and politics and conducted by the Asian College of Journalism. It will include field visits and excursions and work-cum-study internships at renowned print, radio, online and television newsrooms. The first programme is scheduled for September to November 2015.
